Provide a toggle in the Develop menu, HTTP Inventory, for the UseHTTPInventory boolean.
Works for Me, simply patch into an existing Viewer 2.6+ install and it begins working.

I'm going to be tempted to send you all the bug reports that contain any reference to either enabling or disabling this, but ok....
